Noise Awareness Course in York

By: Admin

Pulsar have released the final date of their Noise Awareness Course programme for 2017 to be held in September. The popular 1 day face-to-face course is designed to give the person responsible for health and safety compliance at work an insight into the harmful effects of noise, acoustic terminology and principles, statutory duties and Legislation, risk assessment/noise survey techniques, and how interventions can be developed using noise monitoring tools and noise control methods.

Safeguarding employees from the harmful effects of noise should be a top priority at management level. Noise, too often, is left uncontrolled and staff are expected to operate in environments that exceed recommended noise exposure levels.  Damage to hearing is permanent and irreversible, and can be very debilitating for the sufferer. High levels of noise at work can seriously affect people’s general health and safety and their overall well-being.  Importantly, employers have a legal duty to comply with The Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2005) to prevent or reduce risks to health and safety from exposure to noise at work.

Who should attend?

Experienced as well as new health and safety people will benefit from attending the course, which can be used as a new learning experience or a refresher, or a taster to the Institute of Acoustics Certificate of Competence Workplace Noise Risk Assessment (5 day course).

Next Noise Awareness course: ‘Noise: regulations, risks and controls’ will be held on:

  • Wednesday 20th September 2017 at the National Railway Museum in York
