World Hearing Day 2021 takes place on Wednesday 3 March, and this year’s campaign theme is ‘Hearing Care for All! Screen, Rehabilitate, Communicate’.
The 2021 campaign will also mark the launch of the first-ever World Report on Hearing, which aims to drive policy actions for the integration of ear and hearing care into national health policies.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO):
- 196 million people in the European region are currently living with hearing loss.
- By 2050 it is projected that 236 million people in the region will suffer from problems with their hearing daily.
- Nearly 80% of people with hearing loss live in low and middle-income countries.
- Hearing loss is expensive to communities and costs the region US$ 225 billion annually.
