Need Help with Noise at Work Compliance? Then, why not join a noise measurement specialist for a day
Pulsar Instruments plc, the leading UK manufacturer of noise measurement equipment since 1969 is joining forces this year again with Graham Ellicott, MIOA and noise specialist to deliver a series of new one-day noise awareness courses at venues across the UK.
The popular workshops will include presentations, real case studies taken from a range of industries and open discussions on areas such as basic noise theory, the terminology used in noise measurement, The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 and BS4142 Method for Rating Industrial Noise Affecting Mixed Residential and Industrial Areas.
The aim of the course is to:-
- Raise the awareness and understanding of noise as a risk
- Increase safety professionals’ knowledge and perception of the risk level as a result
- Encourage safer behaviour and correct use of PPE at work in order to be compliant with industry regulations
- Share best practice with delegates with similar interests and job responsibilities
The course also offers an interactive practical session where delegates get the opportunity to make some noise measurements using their own noise meters or decibel meters lent on the day under the guidance of experienced industry professionals. The first course to be held on 24th April 2013 at Whipsnade Zoo in Dunstable will provide attendees with an opportunity to see how the keepers at the Zoo use the noise doseBadges as part of their work and how they take noise readings.
The course in September to be held at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester will allow delegates to take various noise measurements during music rehearsals with sound level meters.
Numbers are limited to 12 delegates per course.
