Discover how safety professionals can reduce the impact of environmental and occupational noise
Designed to achieve highest performance
When it comes to expertise in noise measurement, Pulsar Instruments Plc has become the name to look out for. Our two latest sound meters combine the latest in digital technology and software development with the best of British engineering, making them ideal for both environmental and occupational noise applications. The Model 45 (Class 1) and Model 46 (Class 2) are both at the top end of the new Pulsar Nova® range of sound level meters, offering an exceptional level of performance. They are specifically aimed at more complex and comprehensive analysis of occupational noise in industries such as manufacturing, engineering, automotive and entertainment. The meters are ideal for Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) professionals seeking to meet the noise at work standards and regulations, and enable professionals to benefit from 45 years of expertise in industrial and occupational noise measurement. Both units offer an extensive selection of measurement functions and are compliant to the IEC 61672-1 standard for Class 1 and Class 2 sound level meters.
A powerful but user-friendly sound meter
Pulsar Nova Model 45 and Model 46 enable you to carry out frequency analysis using Octave Band filters. The unit can be set to record and store data over fixed times of 1, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes and 1, 8 and 12 hours, or alternatively, timeframes can be selected manually. All recorded data is held on the removable 4GB SD card. This sound meter is ideal for hearing protection calculations, and the additional availability of 14 independent Ln values makes it one of the most powerful meters in the industry. Its outstanding features include a single measurement range of 20dB -140dB RMS (143dB peak), with parameters such as LAeq (time-weighted average), Lmax (maximum level), LCPeak (peak level), Lep,d (exposure level), LEA (sound exposure level ) and up to 14 Ln values being displayed at the same time. They can simultaneously measure the three frequency weightings ‘A’, ‘C’ and ‘Z’ and provide Fast, Slow and Impulse time constants. An audio or spoken note function of up to 30 seconds is also available enabling the user to record comments without the need for pen and paper. The audio notes are saved as WAV files against each relevant noise measurement.
Designed to survive the toughest conditions
Pulsar Instruments have forged a reputation for producing durable, practical precision equipment that can perform in any environment.
A die-cast metal case gives this sound meter superior strength and durability compared to its plastic rivals. It holds a high-resolution colour OLED display, making it ideal for use in the widest range of lighting environments. The removable preamplifier attaches reliably using a LEMO® connector. Once the measurements have been taken, they can be transferred to a PC using Pulsar AnalyzerPlus software. This will enable you to perform further analysis, displaying the results in various graphical formats.
Finally, we are responsible for all after-sales and recalibration services, and spare parts, software updates together with ongoing support are always available from our friendly team. We are an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Company (Certificate FS517347), so you can be confident that our noise monitoring solutions will always live up to, if not exceed, your expectations.
