The Reading and Calibration Unit for the Pulsar Noise Dosimeter System checks individual dosimeter badges. The Reader communicates with the dosimeter via an infrared link.

The reader unit is required to calibrate the dosimeters prior to measurement in accordance with the requirements of occupational noise regulations and HSE requirements. Once you have mounted the dosimeter on a worker’s shoulder (or on a helmet using the helmet mount), you are ready to start the dosimeter via the infrared link. Once the noise exposure measurements have been made, the dosimeter is stopped in the same way using the Reader.
