Description

Field calibration is essential for accurate and legally compliant noise measurements. An acoustic calibrator allows you to check your sound level meter or noise dosimeter before and after each measurement, ensuring your results comply with occupational noise regulations.

Standard 1 kHz reference tone

The Model 103 (Class 1) and Model 104 (Class 2) acoustic calibrators produce a standardised 1 kHz tone at 94 dB and 114 dB. 94 dB is typically used to calibrate sound level meters, while 114 dB is typically used to calibrate noise dosimeters, allowing a single calibrator to be used across both types of instruments. Built-in sensors automatically correct for temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and battery condition, helping maintain accuracy in a variety of conditions.

Available as a Class 1 or Class 2 calibrator

Both models are easy to operate and fully comply with IEC 60942:2017. The Model 103 is suitable for Class 1 instruments, while the Model 104 is designed for Class 2 instruments typically used in occupational noise assessments.

Durable and easy to use

Each calibrator is compact, durable and easy to use, with a long-life 9-volt battery and an automatic power-off feature to prolong battery life.

Product Options

The Dual Level Acoustic Calibrator is available as a Class 1 or Class 2 model, compliant with IEC 60942:2017. For accurate calibration, the calibrator should match the Class of the sound level meter being calibrated.

Dual Level Acoustic Calibrator

  • Dual Level Acoustic Calibrator
  • PP3 Battery
  • Calibration certificate

The Dual Level Acoustic Calibrator includes a standard 1-year warranty, which can be extended to 7 years when the instrument is returned to Pulsar Instruments for annual calibration.

Instructions

The section below outlines the basic operation of the Dual-Level Acoustic Calibrator. For full instructions on calibrating specific equipment, please refer to the relevant equipment user manual.

Using the Acoustic Calibrator

Carefully fit the calibrator over the microphone capsule, ensuring a firm connection. When switched on, the Dual-Level Acoustic Calibrator emits a 1 kHz tone for acoustic field calibration. Press the power button once for a tone of 94 dB, or press it a second time to switch to 114 dB.
