Last Updated – January 20, 2026
Pulsar Instruments AnalyzerPlus software (supplied as standard with the Pulsar Nova range of Sound Level Meters and our noise dosemeters) can run on most modern PCs. To get the best from the software, your PC or laptop should meet the minimum specifications below, and where possible, also meet the recommended specifications.
Please note that Pulsar AnalyzerPlus is not compatible with the Apple Mac Operating system.
Please note that as of December 2018, AnalyzerPlus does not support Windows XP or Windows Vista.
Operating System
Please note that Microsoft ended support for Windows XP on the 8th April 2014. The minimum system requirements for AnalyzerPlus is Windows 7 SP1.
Please refer to the section regarding .NET Framework 4.0 for more information.
Minimum System Requirements
- Operating system: Windows 11 (x64, Arm64)
- Processor: 2 GHz processor with 4 cores and 3 GHz boost
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 20GB free space
- Display: 1920×1080
Recommended System Specification
- Operating system: Windows 11 (x64, Arm64) – 24H2
- Processor: 3 GHz processor with 8 cores and 4 GHz boost
- RAM: 16GB
- Storage: SSD with 100GB free space
- Display: 1920×1080 or higher
Storage requirements for AnalyzerPlus installation & measurement data
- Approximately 2GB for installing AnalyzerPlus and dependencies
- Up to 5GB for temporary files during measurement download and audio playback
- 1GB per instrument per year for measurements and time history data, assuming typical usage
Where an instrument is storing and downloading audio recordings, additional storage space will be required. The amount of storage will depend on the length of recordings and the audio quality chosen. AnalyzerPlus stores audio as FLAC to save space vs the original uncompressed WAV files. Audio recordings require the following amounts of space:
- Standard Quality 115 MB/hr (WAV) ~70 MB/hr (FLAC)
- High Quality 510 MB/hr (WAV) ~300 MB/hr (FLAC)
- Studio Quality 1.35 GB/hr (WAV) ~800 MB/hr (FLAC)
Speakers or headphones for audio playback
AnalyzerPlus can work with basic on-board sound cards and even internal laptop speakers. However, for the best results, a dedicated sound card or external DAC may be required. To play back at realistic levels, such as when using the speaker calibration feature, good-quality external speakers are also required.
