PulsarSafeEar noise activated warning sign is perfect for use in factories, workshops, pubs and nightclubs to alert in real time when ambient noise levels become too high and indicate when hearing protection must be worn.
In environments where the wearing of hearing protection may not be required at all times, the PulsarSafeEar noise activated warning sign will inform employees when Personal Protective Equipment is required and also when it can be safely removed.
The PulsarSafeEar can also be used in quiet locations such as classrooms/exam rooms, corridors, hospitals and libraries to indicate when noise levels must be kept down. By setting the PulsarSafeEar to trigger at a low level ensures that noise levels in quiet environments stay within acceptable levels.

Noise Warning Signs
Industry & Factories - When a noise survey or risk assessment has been made, areas may be found where hearing protection must be worn or where high noise levels will occur during the working day. It may not be practicable for employees to wear hearing protection constantly, especially where the noise levels are intermittent or vary significantly over the day. The PulsarSafeEar Noise Warning Signs – ‘Hearing Protection Must Be Worn’ (Version 1) can be used to show when hearing protection must be worn in these areas. Where hearing protection is not required but there is still a need to warn when the noise levels are high, ‘Warning High Noise Levels’ (Version 2) would be appropriate.
It is essential for anyone entering these areas to be prepared and already wearing hearing protection.
A Remote Unit can be connected to the Master Unit and positioned outside of the work area, next to an entrance or a door for example. This will ensure that anyone entering the room will be aware of the high noise levels and the need to wear appropriate hearing protection.

Noise Level Measurement
The PulsarSafeEar can be upgraded to become a data logging noise level measurement unit by adding the USB software. This simply plugs into the the PulsarSafeEar and can record noise levels over long periods of time. The Data Logger can be programmed to start recording at a specific time and date and run, for example, over an 8 hour shift.
When plugged into a PC the software will display a graph of the recorded noise levels and allow the data to be printed, exported and annotated for reference.Click on the link to download the latest version of PulsarSafeEar software.

Safe Noise Levels
The PulsarSafeEar is also available with additional remote display units which are controlled by the Master Unit to inform you of safe noise levels in the workplace. A simple cable from the Master Unit can control up to 3 Remote Units by daisy-chaining them together so that a wide area can be covered. Another common use for the Remote Units is to position one at the entrance to a high noise level environment such as above the door to a noisy workshop. This can help to ensure that anyone entering this environment is aware of the need to wear hearing protection or is aware of the risk of high noise levels.
Pulsar Instruments has launched a transportable version of the PulsarSafeEar, developed in partnership with Interserve Construction Limited, to be used at live construction environments. The system consist of a PulsarSafeEar master board fixed on a transportable heavy duty tripod that allows it to be transported about easily as tradesmen worked around the building. The heavy duty tripod gives it a stable mounted base that can move with the sign, wherever the building requires it to be transported due to the tasks being completed. The type of tripod used prevents the sign being knocked over accidently.
