Environmental Sound Level Meter

Ideal for accurate environmental noise measurement

The Pulsar Nova Environmental Sound Level Meter is the perfect instrument for conducting workplace noise assessments and measuring noise pollution. Available in Class 1 and Class 2 models, it ensures precise measurements and simultaneously measures the fundamental parameters required to comply with international noise regulations. The Class 2 meter is perfect for general noise monitoring, while the Class 1 model provides increased accuracy for environments requiring stricter control.

 

Designed for Precision and Ease of Use

The Nova complies with IEC 61672-1:2013, guaranteeing accurate and reliable readings. The bright TFT display ensures clear visibility in any environment, while the soft-touch keypad and intuitive menu system make navigation effortless. This meter simultaneously captures A, C, and Z frequency weightings, along with Fast, Slow, and Impulse time weightings, while also measuring LAeq and LCpeak for peak sound levels, ensuring a thorough noise assessment. Additionally, the Nova Environmental Sound Level Meter also features 1:1 octave bands as standard allowing for in-depth frequency analysis, helping safety professionals choose the right hearing protection. It also measures Ln values, providing statistical noise analysis to assess varying noise levels over time, making it an invaluable tool for workplace and environmental noise monitoring. For longer-term environmental monitoring, repeat timers allow for automated measurements at set intervals, ensuring comprehensive noise data collection over extended periods.

Software / Accessories

Software

Pulsar Nova ‘AnalyzerPlus’ software package is supplied as standard with the Nova Environmental Sound Level Meter. The instrument stores data in its memory and the software allows the user to download the measurement data onto a PC or laptop for analysis and to create a variety of reports. This software features a hearing defenders’ tab for PPE equipment specification using octave band measurements including a large database of hearing protection equipment and reporting functions. Octave band analysis is the most detailed and accurate of the three methods to prescribe the correct level of hearing protection.

The Nova Environmental Sound Level Meter comes supplied with:

  • 1-year warranty (extendable up to 7 years*)

*To qualify for the 7-year warranty, you will need to send your Pulsar Nova sound level meter back to us annually for recalibration and service whereupon the warranty is extended for a further 12 months for up to 7 years.

The Pulsar Nova meters can be supplied as part of a complete noise measurement kit, containing all that is required to carry out a noise survey. In addition, a weatherproof outdoor kit is available to purchase which enables the Nova to be used for outdoor noise monitoring for mid to long-term periods for example on construction sites.
