The leading noise measurement product manufacturer is set to develop new innovative products for safety professionals
Pulsar Instruments have been awarded a substantial grant to develop new noise measurement products. The Yorkshire-based noise measurement product company, Pulsar Instruments plc, have been awarded a grant from the UK’s innovation agency, Technology Strategy Board to develop new innovative products to be used by safety professionals around the world.
Pulsar Instruments plc, founded in 1969 with nearly 45 years of experience in noise measurement and monitoring in the workplace, today announces that it has been awarded a grant totalling £151,000 by the government-backed Technology Strategy Board. The award, made as part of the Technology Strategy Board’s ‘Smart’ scheme, will be used to accelerate the development of highly innovative hybrid devices to measure noise levels in the workplace together with supporting software.
This funding will energise the existing range of products and, by applying innovative research and development, it will significantly enhance the organisation’s market position in both the UK and overseas.
New project will include the development of wireless noise measurement technology
The project focuses on producing simple to use wireless noise measuring devices, with a programmable core, fully compliant with prevailing regulatory requirements for noise exposure regulations around the world.
The Smart scheme (previously known as Grant for Research and Development) is specifically designed to support innovation and stimulate the UK economy. The scheme offers funding to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to engage in R&D projects in the strategically important areas of science, engineering and technology and fund successful new products, processes and services. The selection process is highly competitive, and companies are assessed against rigorous criteria.
